for any of you unfamiliar with this storyline, Lex manages to put the sun out so no more powers for superman, he's just Clark superman notices crime level is rising so for a while he don's the suit and goes out trying to pretend he has powers and fighting the villains that don't just run. superman's friends reignite the sun but his powers don't return. his friends stick him in a small spaceship and fly Clark into the heart of the sun: kill or cure method. He survives and returns but somehow he's still Clark.
after a few days things start to happen: he can't grab things his hand just fazes right through them, his whole body fazes and he falls through the floor, he keeps breaking electronics they just short out around him. eventually he becomes superman white with lots of new powers, with only one downside he can choose when to become superman white and when to revert to Clark; unfortunately as Clark he is mortal, human, completely vulnerable no powers at all so it's new territory for him. that's it in very very brief, the comic-book is worth a read, or rather the graphic novel is worth a read sorry graphic novelists: some part are quite funny, especially some of the ways he comes up with for combating crime: using shock and awe hoping they'll run away, or jumping off walls onto criminals to emulate landing or swooping in from the skies.
