Description This is my first attempt at colouring something with Photoshop and it was much more difficult than I expected it to be. It was still fun, though ^^.

I wanted to draw Jim with his hand over Spock's heart, because I love the differences between human and vulcan anatomy.
I just hope I got the location right. I read somewhere that the vulcan heart is located where our liver should be, but well...I'm an artist not a doctor XP...so somewhere in his side should be about right.

I don't generally like chest hair.
But there's something about Spock's chest hair that I do like.

Hmm.. it's just a part of Spock and I guess that's why I like it.
And now I have to imagine Spock with a razor in his hand, shaving his chest, which is somewhat disturbing while simultaniously making me giggle quite a lot xD'

he would do it cause kirk expressed awkward dislike towards it. he didn't ask spock to shave it or anything, just suggested at one point or another that he likes smooth skin. and then he walks in on spock shaving his chest and there's a really awkward moment where he laughs and laughs and spock's like " it isn't funny... >:I "

Oh my god... the shading on Spock's chest alone... It looks so real. That's amazing, if you don't mind me saying I love this too much. Really, it's quite a lovely painting

So sweet... it's almost like a lullaby for the eyes. They look like they're at such peace with each other, and that cream and blue shading is just yummy.

Yes, I just love the original series! <3
The dynamic of Kirk and Spock's relationship is simply perfect and I'm afraid the new movies will never get there *sigh*.

I HEAR YA! -_- Well Shatner & Nimoy made something all their own with those characters. It's kind of like the Beatles, it came together that way completely by chance and it won't happen again. Still, it's fun to see how other people go about trying to recreate that.

Yup, that's right. Even though the whole Spock/Uhura thing dampens my joy a little.
And I don't think they will change anything about it all too soon (if ever ).
...to think that JJ Abrahms "saw evidence for it" in TOS...

Yeah... Spock/Uhura?
I've seen TOS many times, I don't really see it myself. :S
I can only think of two scenes where they really interact.
When she tries to come on to him and fails in The Man Trap, and her singing a song to him in Charlie X.
It's a stretch for sure.

Ahh! I love this so much! It's such a sweet moment between the two of them (Vulcan heart !!) ... and what could be better than shirtless Kirk -and- Spock?

Oh, you're probably right then. XD Who knows how it would be in TOS. After all, some of the mistakes they made were so lolworthy that's it ok to follow the actual science they intended. XD

This is really quite lovely. It's wonderful too see more emotional pictures as opposed to something more lustful. Sometimes simple is really best. =3

If I'm not mistaken, his heart was on the other side in the same place...? But Dammit DA I'm a Trekkie, not McCoy! D:

Hmm... I googled "vulcan heart" and the first entry said this: "The Vulcan heart is located where one would expect to find the Terran liver, leaving room for the somewhat larger Vulcan lung assembly."
And as the greater part of our liver is in the right side of the body, that's where I put Spock's heart.
But well... I'm rewatchin TOS right now, so should McCoy (or anybody else for that matter) mention anything I'll just mirror the image and then the heart will be on the left side

It's such a lovely picture! Well well done.

As for the heart position: I just had a lively discussion regarding that and the thing is that the canon here disagrees with itsself. In "Mudd's women", at the end, McCoy exactly shows where the Vulcan herat is and Spock doesn't object. Also, McCoy stands at the left side when he's opereating Sarek on the heart.
On the other hand McCoy mentions that the Vulcan heart is where humans have their liver in "A private little war".
So...even the fandom, as I noticed during the discussion is kind of divided. I personally would go for the left side like McCoy showed but many others go for the liver-argument.
However: Loveley picture!!!

Oh no, now you've convinced me that it's actually on the left side
But as I'm a lazy ass I'm just going to pretend that I still think it's on the right side, so I can leave my picture as it is
I'll keep it in mind, though, for future references, so thanks for telling me ^^

You're welcome. But hey, don't you worry! It's such a heart warming picture and many fans have decided to believe in the right-side position anyway!
All fine,
xD,
