Description
With a thump Shion's hand came to rest in her lap and I carefully disembarked. A field of white fabric spread out before me, the wrinkles and creases in the fabric waves to navigate across. The fabric was taut like a trampoline but the very next step I found myself sinking and becoming lost in the folds of cloth. With a bit of struggle I managed to climb back to some more stable footing. A part of me wanted to scamper around and climb on poor Shion like she was a living jungle gym to quench my curiosity over my new strange friend. But an equally concerned part was feeling like a beetle skittering across a very big person who may not appreciate being disrespected by someone else running all over them. I squinted upward trying to catch a glimpse of Shion's face but the view was currently being obstructed by her... erm... assets. She had set me in her lap, so I guess the safest bet was taking a seat.

I couldn't help but wonder if I was over thinking my interactions with her. I didn't think she was going to hurt me, so why was I so worried about doing the wrong thing? Was I just nervous about offending her because I wanted her to like me? Or was I still afraid because of her size? Was it just a lot harder to interact because of the size difference? I could recall a video I'd watched a while back, it was about reading someone's intentions based on how they held their body, arms crossed, tilted head, all of it meant something. When you could only see one body part at a time it was impossible to get those messages. Of course if Shion wasn't human would she even have the same body language?

I flopped back and closed my eyes, the softness of the fabric cradling me as the heat of Shion's body slowly warmed me. I yawned, actually feeling a little sleepy as my brain stopped all its endless wandering. I giggled and joked "Laps are pretty great, I totally get why cats are all about this life."
