LOL. I actually recently found out about the yeet meme when my friend was telling me about Allura and Voltron.Β
I think I vaguely remember Golion since my older cousin used to watch it on DVD I didn't pay much attention to it, though I think I remember Sincline and Fala whom I believe are Allura and Lotor are based on.Β
Now if only Fala was as good at yeeting Sincline like a bouncy ball every time he tried to approach her. (she indeed became much more bad@$$ in the new show.) lol

Yeah I have a few friends who watched Voltron, I didn't pay much attention to it until a few videos get recommended to me on YouTube and finally decided to watch a few reviews of the show.
Then I remembered how I once saw bits and parts of Golion that my cousin was watching.
I really like Allura in the new show though I wish she could have gotten a better ending instead of being the sacrifice (like most of my favorite female characters always end up dying or sacrificed/ one way or another T_T)

Yeah, I find it difficult to find really well written mecha themed stories these days since most of the ones I have seen are just kiddie comedy stuff with very little plot. There was probably only one mecha show that I really liked yet it was never that popular and is pretty outdated now.
From what I heard Voltron actually had a potential to become to have a plot with depth but they wasted it in the end.
