It wasn't often you were summoned or called to the boss's office. For me, it was usually a bad thing as I kept getting into trouble with fed owners. I mean, I promise I didn't mean to toss Brunhilde into the hot dog vender at GAAH Wrestling! And it absolutely wasn't my fault that Bad Bad Molly Brown was chokeslammed through the ring. I paid to replace it! And she had sent Sandra "The Sweetheart" to the hospital the week before so that was absolutely something she deserved at WHAAM wrestling.

Ooops, got distracted. Anyways, I was called to Valery's office over at NHB, and I wasn't exactly sure for what. I hadn't beaten up anyone lately, and I hadn't attacked any of the Lady Dragons so Emi shouldn't be mad at me. Maybe this was thanks for the brisket I had brought a few days earlier to cheer up the Good Gals of NHB?

I hope so, as everyone seemed to enjoy it a lot!

I reached Valery's door and knocked, entering soon after hearing a cheerful, "Come in, Ariane!" from within. I walked in and the boss lady herself got up from her seat at her desk to shake my hand.

"Ms. Jones. So glad you could meet me on such short notice. I have something to run by you. Please, sit.

I did as instructed and sat opposite of her. I'm glad she was smiling as it put my heart at ease quite a bit. Especially after I realized somebody had probably seen me sneaking that skunk into Emi's office the week prior.

Oops! I'll have to be more sneaky next time.

"You may guessed that I want Eve to have a match against Moira at Breaking Point." Valery's words shook me from my thoughts. "But Eve has retired. She said 'she has laced up her boots for the last time'. That match with Kim hit her hard. She was devastated."

I was aghast, and I'm sure it showed on my face. "That's terrible! Eve's one of the best in the ring that I've seen. I admit that was a horrible way to lose, but it ain't no reason for her to retire. I hope she'll reconsider."

Valery nodded her head, and seemed quite solemn. "So, the reason I called you is your loyalty. You may not know me or NHB very well but I know a goodhearted person when I see one. That I respect. So, I want you to take Eve's place in that match. I know it is sudden and Breaking Point is just right around the corner but I like to be prepared. No more second guessing. You have and will always have a career here at NHB. If you want it that is. For you loyalty, I am going to offer you a bonus."

Valery slid over an envelop over to me. When I was hesitant to open it, she shook her head, gently grabbed the envelope from my hands before opening it before my eyes.
