Well hey y'all! I have such a great announcement to make! Well, after my last boxing match, I had gone back to training for wrestling, boxing, having a few more wrestling matches when you know who showed up at my out-of-the-way ranch? Why Shanna of course! I was flabbergasted and dropped the haybale I was hauling into the barn as I saw her grinning visage stepping out of Cimar's truck.

He stated that he had found her at the veterinary clinic asking for me. When he'd seen who it was, he hoofed it in his truck quick as lightning here with her as a surprise for me. And boy was I shocked!

That haybale hadn't even hit the ground before we were both sprinting at each other, meeting each other in the biggest, warmest hug I've had in a long time. Now if ya don't know, Shanna is somebody who gives the absolute best hugs in the world. All your cares and worries just drip away when she embraces ya. Only hug I like more comes from Cimar for, well, obvious reasons.

Anyways, Shanna stated she wanted to visit and experience the Jones's Ranch treatment. My jaw dropped, as nobody wanted to experience that when they knew what it was. The only way I got DaisyPierce2000 to participate was because she didn't have a clue what was going to happen. I asked if she was sure, and she nodded so, off we went!

Straight to the barn for the full haybale treatment. Carrying them up the ladder, then others back down. Shanna did it without a single curse word, which I think was a record! In fact, she was smiling the entire time as she hauled those 50lb bales up into the loft. She really made the experience enjoyable, and dare I say it, even more fun than it usually was!

By the time the afternoon sun was starting to set, Shanna and I headed back to the ranch house to clean up a bit for dinner. Since Cimar had dropped by to give Shanna a lift, he had stayed and smoked some brisket as soon as the two of us had headed towards the barn.

He's getting quite good at smoking meat! First batch he completed burnt within ten minutes of sticking it in the smoker. I ain't even sure how that was possible, but he'd done it haha! He's gotten a lot better though, and this haunch was b-e-autiful! Dinner was an absolute job, with Cimar cracking jokes, Shanna bringing her own sunshine as the sun outside ducked behind the South Dakotan hills, and the food pure deliciousness!

The best part of the night was yet to come! As the best way to finish off a hard workout is a soak in the hot tub. It was something that I made sure my family had installed when I was growing up. I even used all my money I earned from taking care of our neighbor's animals on top of my own ranch duties to help my folks buy it! And I haven't regretted it since! (especially when Cimar comes over hehe).

So, what did Shanna and I do?

Spent the next couple of hours soaking in the tub, looking up at the stars, reveling in each other's company. It had been a while since anyone had visited the ranch, and to be honest, I was feeling a bit lonely and down out here.

All that disappeared when Shanna first stepped out of Cimar's truck.

And ya know what? Thinking of all the challenges I was currently facing...then looking over at Shanna....

...I couldn't help but smile, and know things were about to get better.
