I have no idea of what bird this is, but I thought it was a nice subject.I saw it in Tokyo, in September. It was fishing in the pond.
Thanks to [link] now I know it's a Black-crowned night heron.

I agree with =chik1117 , it's a juvenile night-heron. I'm thinking Nankeen Night-heron[link] or Black-crowned Night-heron[link]
