While the pieces may not be authentic in either of these catchers, the most important part of constructing these kinds of objects is that the crafter is happy with them and the recipient (if a gift) is happy with them. If so, you could make it out of nylon and plastic and they'll work. It's the love. And the love shows in this one.
As does some decent talent...dreamcatchers can be tricky to make. lol

I'm 99% sure I got the eagle concho at Ben Franklin Crafts. I made this around 15 years ago and that was about the only place I bought craft supplies at the time. Whether they still carry nice conchos like that anymore, I'm not sure - I don't shop there much anymore.

I did indeed make this dreamcatcher in 1998... it's the other one in my gallery that I made close to 15 years ago, and that was when all my supplies were purchased.
