Did you use a texture? Because I'm thinking of getting Photoshop and I was wondering if you used a Photoshop texture/filter here?

Thank you. Yes I did apply texture and no, not with the ps filter.
I make my own textures now, using different photoshop brushes
I downloaded from the internet (random sources) but I used to download
free textures from dA too. I'm sure you can find some interesting ones
under the stock and resources category ^v^

Both drawings show an impressive level of skill, so it's hard to say that the older one looks worst or the new one better in terms of artistic quality.
The first thing that jumped to my eyes was the hair. Vast improvement. The hand (any artist's nightmare) is much better and natural too. Overall, it's more like a style change rather than skill improvement, especially in the shading and coloring. The new one looks professionally finished, were the other has a more relaxed look.
Love seeing these before-after memes.
