Hedgehog + Flower
 7x9 inches, pastel and acrylic illustration

This is part 3/3 of an assignment from my Advanced Illustration Seminar class. It is the companion to 'Paper Hedgehog' and 'Paper Lily'. The assignment was to be looser on concept, yet be very experimental with materials. I don’t paint very often, so I thought that this assignment was a good time to do whatever I liked.
I tried a technique that was totally new to me— using pastel and painting on top of it. I was able to loosen up my pastel technique and just do some atmospheric stuff. My friend said that this would be a really nice ‘thinking of you’ card. I agree.
