Description
A male ruby-throated hummingbird feeding in our backyard. I've been delighted with their curious nature - they are willing to ignore my camera and flash set-up and come quite close for a feeding.Related content

Thanks! The trick is using flashes that allow you to manually reduce the power to a very short duration flash - this freezes the wing action. I have the camera fairly close to the perch and operate it with a remote trigger.
