Description
This one was an unusual piece. It's a request from The character shown here is known only as The Chained One, the protagonist of a retro-style Metroidvania-type indie game still in development inspired by the Amiga games of old. I wasn't given very many parameters or details apart from some models, but I think the design I was given to work with was very well-made. Had it actually come out in the heyday of the Amiga or other old console, it would be a classic character today. As for me, I'm just glad people think I'm good enough for requests. I may add some more shadows for the chains later, although I think this one gets its point across pretty well.
I added some scars and made his ears more apparent. The story of the game is that he was a human child who was kidnapped, enslaved, and transformed into this hideous and terrifying form by dark forces as one of their minions. He serves in their dark legions for many years until one day, while ransacking a kingdom, he kills a familiar man and woman who he recognizes as his mother and father, which causes him to regain his human mind and memories of his tormented past at the hands of his captors, so he vows revenge on his former masters and their dark legions for his enslavement, transformation, and forcing him to kill his parents. He's wearing shackles because he was imprisoned and tortured due to trying to kill his masters that very same day that tragedy of the death of his parents and he regained his human mind and memories happened. He breaks free and escapes. In case you're wondering where he got the shackles, he attempted to kill his enslavers for making him mindlessly kill his parents, but he is subdued and taken away to a prison to be tortured. He escapes by summoning the bestial willpower to pull on the chains until they break loose. And he does this while being whipped by his torturer, hence the scars. That's how the game's co-creator described it, anyway.
Hope you like it, Jeff.
