Description "You got the Bremen Mask! This mask belonged to the leader of the animal troupe. Try parading it around tiny, young animals."

The Bremen Mask from Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. One of my favorite masks from the game. The base is made from paper mache, then layered with varying sized feathers. The eyes are painted window screen. Craft foam covers the beak and eyes(and painted). I didn't make the pictured Link hat. :3

Enjoy! *Plays ocarina. marches off*

Yup. It helps give the initial idea for the human face. then just sculpted a beak onto it. Let me know any other questions.

Arizzel In reply to Tenteran [2015-03-08 18:01:10 +0000 UTC]

Hard to say. From the craft store, I believe I bought one bag of long feathers(maybe two if there was 6 feathers in each) and one bag of small fluffy feathers.

You need to be selling this! I am a long time Zelda fan & & think this is one of the coolest looking masks in MM. Also My school was told early that the prom this year is a masquerade, in which I want something classy but not stupid, & this mask is quite classy in my opinion! So I would totally buy one!

I'm really glad you like it. I actually am working on setting up and online store where i may sell things like this. But I actually don't expect it to go live until the end of 2013 due to other obligations. Glad to know there is a fan base for this mask. It is one of the best

linkofthegorons [2012-05-05 16:37:10 +0000 UTC]

I have two very cute chihuahuas and if I had this mask I would make sure to give them candy everytime I wore it, and I would forbid everyone from giving them any candy at all unless they wore this mask. This would go on for weeks, and eventually the only person to get attention from them and to cuddle with them would be the person wearing the mask. It would be the most ridiculous, yet funny thing ever.

Expert mode: Do that but with the music too - secretly to all cats in your neighbourhood (dogs aswell if the owners doesn't get too creeped out) and do a daily march around your neighbourhood with the music, ocarina and mask. Just think of the possibilities if your person fur army is big and loyal enough.

Super-PrincessPeach In reply to Arizzel [2011-06-02 03:26:26 +0000 UTC]

I invested in an ocarina too, and thought the Bremen mask in particular would be awesome for a photo
Hmm, well does "Where do I start!" count as a question? And 'are there any other ways for this to be done?' I think the only resourses I can get hold of would be cardboard, paper and glue (well, paper mache) and the feathers, and paint, plus elastic to fasten the mask if needed. No foam or anything that fancy, so would it still be do-able? Heh, sorry if I'm bombarding you here, I've never done anything with prop making EVER so I want to be as much 'in the know' as a poswsibly can be C:

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Arizzel In reply to Super-PrincessPeach [2011-06-02 18:36:08 +0000 UTC]

An ocarina is perfect. I was thinking of learning the song myself and seeing how many people would follow me in a march.

Bombard me all you want. The best way is seeing all your options and asking questions.

A place to start is always the toughest question. In my scraps I made a little "how-to" using a keaton mask to make a base out of paper mache. Its the same method I used for the Bremen's mask, but instead modeled a beak. If you cant get clay like I used for my mask you could probably use card board. You can make the triangle shape for the beak. You can also make little fins that go along the side of the head which would be a base for the feathers to be glued on. Paper mache is good cause it can be sanded and is pretty light weight. Also if you can't get the base mask like I used, it might be easier to pick up a balloon and blow it up to the size of your head. You can paper mache on this to get the mask to curve around the face then once it dries remove the balloon.

Here's the materials I used. You of course don't have to use all of these to make a mask

Base mask
Paper (news paper)
air drying clay
Flower, salt, Elmer's glue (to make my mache paste. but paper mache can be done by just painting strips with glue)
Hot glue to glue down feathers(though other glues could work with dry time and patience)
feathers
Craft foam(this was to cushion the bridge of the nose, trim the eyes, and smooth the beak. other materials could be used or nothing at all based on what you want. )
paint
ribbon
window screen(or another mesh like material so you can have the eyes but still see through them)

Sorry for all the words. If my text got confusing just let me know where you need clarification.

HOW CUTE! <3 I love how the feathers came out :3 Great job on this, I've always wanted to see it done I think I recognize the hat xD Now, you have to take a picture of you wearing it and marching around the pups :3

Arizzel In reply to HaeRyun [2011-03-25 17:55:58 +0000 UTC]

Yes the hat. Remember when...

Haha that would be really funny if I would get their attention long enough to do that. Kiwi is really smart, we should teach her to follow us. I gave the mask to Jared for his birthday and lent him my ocarina. Hes supposed to learn the song and march around Fanime. I wanna see if we can get people to fallow us. lol

HaeRyun In reply to Arizzel [2011-04-11 00:37:22 +0000 UTC]

Cute! Unfortunately I won't be able to go to fanime :< Lame sauce... Too many things going on this year. expensive things.

Kiwi is pretty bad at following when she's out of the house lol but maybe we could tie her to his belt with some fishing string or something clear xD Kiwi is a love bug but once she sees other people she'll want to go say hello haha. How are indie and coco with other dogs? I should bring Kiwi by sometime to say hello :3

Arizzel In reply to HaeRyun [2011-05-06 21:57:26 +0000 UTC]

Lol. love Kiwi! Indi is very frightened of other dogs so i would be nervous with him. he gets nippy. Coco is a love. Shes timid too but i think she would get used to it and love a play mate we would probably have to have them meet in a park or something neutral.

Arizzel In reply to Linkfan007 [2011-04-06 04:05:52 +0000 UTC]

Hehe. Believe me, I understand the school issue. I work on projects on and off throughout the year when I find the time, when home work is done or its light because of tests or something.xD

Combining the hours it may have been 2 days to complete. This is mostly because there is a lot of drying time for paper mache, paint, and glue. I actually started it in december if that shows how long I take to work on something on and off. lol

Is Majora's Mask your favorite Zelda game?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Arizzel In reply to ClaudiaSutton [2011-03-19 02:42:50 +0000 UTC]

That sounds like a nice plan. Its nice that there are things to see around the convention without having to buy a pass. I hope to meet up with you as well! <3

I would have to say both Zelda games for N64 are tied as my favorite. Ocarina of time was my first one I played so holds a special place. Majora's Mask has been inspiring to for its unique concept. I love how different things happen based on the time of day and the collecting of masks (I just love collecting things in games). Chance to play as different characters was cool too. Plus its got all the wonderful characters that make me nostalgic from Ocarina. Yeah its a good game. Whats Your favorite, might I ask?

ClaudiaSutton In reply to Arizzel [2011-03-20 01:00:32 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I agree, and since my bf and I live so close, we can pop in for most days. Saturday for sure and probably Sunday.

I totally agree about Zelda as well. The N64 Zeldas were pure magic. OoT being probably my favorite video game of all time. I really felt like I was a part of that world. As for Majora's Mask, I've only played it once because I borrowed it from a friend. So I felt a bit rushed, because I had to return it to them before our school semester ended.

My parents wouldn't get that one for us because they didn't see the difference between the two games. (That made for a very sad Christmas that year. Poor disappointed Claudia) So that's why I just HAD to borrow it. You inspire me to play it again. hee hee My partner has the 64 and the cartridge still, but I wonder if the battery still works.

I noticed that most of your Zelda cosplays were from 64 era.
