Description The most recent drawing off instagram. This image is loosely historical, it is not meant to be a 100% accurate depiction of WAC mechanics. And once again, thanks a ton for the birthday messages. They really help a brotha out.

The original description off instagram:

A lot of families in the US didn’t want their daughters to join the WACs. Many with strong traditional mindsets couldn’t fathom the idea of a woman in uniform, and many in the military had spread rumors about the women in service. Rumors about women looking for husbands, being promiscuous, and heaps of other nonsense made being a WAC more challenging than many would think.

A tabulation from the office of censorship found that over 4/5ths of letters from soldiers talking about WACs were negative. The bright side though, is that people are usually more open about foreign concepts (other people as well) once they’re exposed to them.

Officers and Enlisted alike changed their mind about the WACs after working with them, with both Eisenhower and MacArthur seeing them as their best soldiers. And yes, being a soldier for Uncle Sam isn’t just about shooting your rifle at the guys on the other side of the river(it’s still imperative that you do), it’s as every bit being involved in stenography, sorting mail and paperwork, supply work, and much, much more. Roughly 8% of WACs sent to Europe worked as weather reporters, draftsmen, Interpreters, and mechanics! Working on trucks, tanks, and aircraft!

Now, most of this information is from the short book "The women's army corps: A commemoration of WW2 service" By Judith Bellafaire, published in 1993

I'm probably not 100% accurate, but feel free to correct me as needed.

Looks like they should belong to the Saunders Girls Academy from "Girls und Panzers".

And Happy Birthday, whenever it was!  Mine was last Saturday!

THANK YOU, a lot of the time is actually spent planning out a balance between realism/detail, and stylization

Is it as good as they say?

The tanks clearly can’t do some of the things they make them do; but that is the nature of anime for the most part. However, the wife and I liked it very much, and really was a fun anime.

A war is fought by 50% fight and 50% logistics, what Hitler messed up in Africa, Battle of the Bulge and Russia.

Love this pic, 'SNAFU', chuckle, this image was definitely no 'WAFTAM'!

Those ladies served with distinction.

How true. Veterans all.

The first memorial honoring the women who served was the Vietnam one. It’s been slammed as historically inaccurate as it seems to show field care.
I saw it as just giving care waiting for medivac to haul him to a bigger hospital. 8 of them were killed by enemy actions. Mortars don’t recognize one’s sexuality.
