A very good picture! I always like Tua...found her to be quite cute and I liked her voice. But I'm not 100 percent sure that she died. In the second season, in that episode where Ezra learned the fate of his parents, did anyone notice that woman who looked at Ezra as he was commandeering a speeder bike? The hair color was different, but I was ready to swear it was Minister Tua. When Agent Kallus announced her murder, he sounded as if he expected Lothal's citizens to be outraged. She could have been popular among the residents for honestly trying to meet their needs, and theyΒ could have been ready to help her hide among them.

Well, story-wise,she was honest, her only flaw being disillusioned with the Empire.Β
Vader and Kallus were just... Vader and Kallus.

On one hand, her death was very effective. It perfectly established how dangerous and ruthless Vader was, and it pushed Kallus a step further in his character development. In the last season when Aresko and Grint were beheaded, it was pretty clear Tua and Kallus were shaken by it, but whereas Maketh realized the Empire was too brutal for her, Kallus just took his own deviousness a step further by willingly having her killed.Β
On the other hand... it was a wasted opportunity to see things from the average imperial officer's point of view. Hopefully in the future we'll get more complex imperials who also have changes of heart and try to leave the Empire (Han Solo, General Dodonna, General Madine... etc)

Ya know I wasn't even sure that first time if she was for real or not about defecting from the empire - but now it seems she WASΒ and now she's goneΒ To think she used to be such a HARD-ASSΒ too. I tell ya these Imperials are such heartless assholesΒ using whatever to their advantageΒ

Don't worry, I know how you feel. Not only about Tua, but in general; I often pick a character to be my favorite and then guess what? They get killed. In Rebels' case, though, despite feeling Tua didn't die, it was, of all people, Aresko who I picked as my favorite Imperial. He was such a sad-sack I couldn't help but feel sympathetic towards him despite what a horrible weenie he was. I liked his and Tua's interactions and how she'd yell at him and he'd flinch like they were a married couple, with her as the bossy wife and him the henpecked husband.
....
And then the Inquisitor cut his head off. Ouch. Another character I liked washed down the crapper for a shocking death scene to make the show seem more "grown up." Then Tua goes as well, pretty much for the same reasons. Because writers think killing people equals maturity and want their show to "have balls," as it were.
I admit I didn't like Tua at first, but she has since grown on me, and personally I would've kept both her and Aresko around so there'd be some likable characters among the Imperials. With them and Grint gone, there are no likable Imperials left; it's all evil jerks.
And while, yes, the Empire are the bad guys, in real life things are shades of gray and not everyone is a scheming, evil, finger-steepling Bond villain who is evil for evil's sake. In fact I daresay most people in evil regimes are people just like Tua and Aresko - just trying to get by and do their jobs.
So I'm with you on the weirdly sympathetic supporting villains getting the short end of the stick like Tua did.

I really liked Aresko but Tua was much more amazing to me. Agent Kallus and Darth Vader are both so evil. Now I picked Sabine to be my favourite character. Let's see who dies next

Haha so agree! At the minute or the Inquisition killed Aresko and Grint, the show has suddenly become much more serious. The Imperials seemed incompetant before that but we do not laugh after that. I could not believe my eyes (the only another scene that surprised me is when chopper pushes the poor 264 down of the the ship haha). This is also one of aspets I loved with Maketh Tua, thanks to her we understand that it's all the Imperials who are not fundamentally bad.
That's what I love about the Rebels series, I did not expect to like it, I thought it would be childish but the characters are so well developed and have so awesome personality that I totally became a fan of the series as I was to clone Wars.

Tua was my favourite character from the beginning. I cried during the siege of lothal. Now Sabine is my favourite character. Maybe she is soon gonna die.

I believe her death was staged by the Agent Kallus and Vader. They rigged that Imperial shuttle to explode with her in it.
