Beautiful shot. I love the cheery smile on the 'terps face. Who is that in the painting behind the Iraqi soldier?

Haha, I'll hold you on that. I doubt it's Jesus, and I know there's no way in hell it's Muhammed... Did Muhammed have a brother, or was it sons? Might be one of those...

Might be Mohammed's grandson, considering this is a predominantly Shi'a area...
Sunnis recognised the 'followers' of Mohammed as the rightful heirs to the Faith, rather than the man's bloodline...

The one on the painting is Ali.
He is one of the first believers in Islam, cousin and son-in-law of Mohammed, and the fourth caliph after him.

This is a famous portrait of him in Shiite dominant regions of middle east, although it is not usual to have images and sculptures of humans in Islam.

The one on the far right looks more like he's a terp than a soldier

Yes he is...I asked if has OK with his image being published without concealing his identity and he gave me permission to use this photo.
Things are improving a little, but he's a Jordanian which may also have some bearing...

That probably would. If he was an actual Iraqi, things would be dicy I imagine.

Lol,the photo is actually funny in one way. Like it.
Well, dunno,in other way.....whenever I see your photos and soldiers with weapons on them, I kinda get melancholic and a bit sad. Cuz I always remember that they fight and get hurt and stuff :/
I'm talking a lot ^^ just sayin that I like your photos and reports.
