I know what I said before, but would you believe me if I said that the trade-off to switching to MMD might be worth it? You can do so much with camera angles and framing.
...The downside, of course, is that any asset I use has to come from somewhere else, since I can't make them myself. And then I get to deal with posing and lighting. Sigh.
