In the original Ninja Gaiden trilogy for the NES he was but the modern series is a whole different story.
Β I don't remember any mention of him putting a ring on Irene. Then again I only played the first two Ninja Gaiden games for Xbox and Xbox360 as well as the first four Dead Or Alive games. Razor's Edge tried to repair the damage that NGIII did by failing to be worthwhile but too little too late. I haven't touched DOA Dimensions either as I lack a 3DS but regardless Ryu deserve to be with someone who can actually be useful agaisnt the fiends and defend herself. I just loathe Irene/Sonia.
Anyways as for the image itself,well while I don't personally ship Momiji X Ryu Hayabusa, I don't find it that bothersome of a pairing. I am just happy to see Ryu posing with one of his kunochi partners in crime.

Not exactly a slam dunk despite it listing Irene as his wife. I hate it when animes and video games do this. Pussy footing around the romance. But hell if I know how the modern Ninja Gaiden games fit in into the NES ones. Tomonobu Itagaki previously mentioned that the modern Ninja Gaiden games were meant as prequels to the original NES trilogy but since he is no longer in charge of the series take it with a grain of salt.
