Description

Sorry for the lack of actual artwork from me this year so far, gotten into some kind of rutt where I'm either too lazy, not in the mood or only feel like working on my Warhammer models. While yes you can say that also counts as Artwork, and I have been taking photos of my progress (assembling, kit bashing, painting, etc) I didn't want to flood my gallery with so many photos of my collection. But I still want to show you guys what I've been working on instead of drawings lately so here are a few highlights of my painted models (still got some unpainted ones or kits that still need assembling)

The T'au Empire was my first army when me and my friends got into Warhammer 40k back in 2007-2008 during the transition between 4th and 5th edition. We didn't really know how to play the game mostly and kept getting things wrong, also didn't really delve into the lore of things. Eventually we grew bored of the hobby and my collection was put into storage in th attic. Then in 2020 when the Pandemic happened we found ourselves with a lot of free time and decided to get back into the game as it was starting it's 9th Edition, and this time we got into the Lore of the game and just how interesting it was, even reading some of the novels.

For my T'au collection, I didn't add as much new things as I did with my other armies since it was already quite large, but I did use the opportunity to either re-paint some of my poorer jobs, reassemble unwanted models into something more useful/fun and thanks to my brother's new 3D printer, print out some choice new models. Photos above are as follows:

1) Crisis Suit Team: Previously I only had 4 Battle suits and attached their weapons with blue tac. Now I've converted 2 of my old Broadsides into extra Battle suits bringing the number to 6, inserted magnets to swap out their weapons, used expansion rings to bring their bases to legal size and added terrain to the bases.

2) Urban Terrain: Originally I never has terrain on my model bases, but now I'm in the process of adding it. For the T'au I decided to go for an Urban theme with Tarmac roads and wrecked pavements. For the larger bases I painted on road markings like a Zebra Crossings, Yellow parking lines and just for a laugh a disabled parking marking.

3) Newer Non GW Models: The newest additons to my collection are some non Games Workshop models I pruchased form Etsy or had 3D printed. From left to right there is my Gundam inspired Coldstar Commander, my Cadre Fireblase and a new Broadside suit to replace one of the old ones I converted into a Crisis Suit.

4) Kroot Re-paint: If there was one thing in my old collection I really needed to re-do it was my Kroots as their old paint job was both lazy and horrible (pale, sickly green slapped on headsm hands and feet with mostly black bodies and silver weapons). Now I've gotten better at painting (Dry brushing is amazing) I went over them with a proper colour scheme that I'm rather pleased with. Also 3D printed a rather nice looking Shaper leader, some extra Kroot Hounds to get the minnimum required (only had 2 originally) and some extra Kroot soldiers to bump the original 16 to a full 20.

5) 2000 Pts Army: This photo depicts a 2000 Pts Army list of my T'au I once used in a club game some time ago.

Future projects or ideas I got for the T'au are assembling a Riptide Battlesuit which I always wanted as it's a big Mecha and I love those. A new Broadside battlesuit I need to assemble. And finish painting and adding terrain to the rest of my collection.
