Description I'm happy to present to You an all-handmade kanzashi hairpin! Elaborately done in silk and felt, this hairpin is done with hana tsumami kanzashi technique, which is folding small silk squares into single petals, later glued together to form gorgeous silk ornaments.

This particular pin is made using silk squares in pure white and pink. Backing is felt, a unique Wisteria Gardens feature, which makes the kanzashi even more durable than regular cardboard back ones.

The motif are butterflies, most often seen in spring. The butterflies are worm by maiko (apprentice geisha) in April, either in clusters of tiny butterflies,, a miwa (three-flower composition) or a single big pin.
