Fuuuuu this was so much fun. 8D I did it for a basic profile practice. The shading was alot of fun, except when Photoshop crapped out a few times near the end. I installed the wrong graphics drivers on my Surface Pro...so I fixed that and was good to go again. Firelily is so pretteh. I adore her design, even though it's quite complicated. Drawing her angry is also quite fun. I'm really happy with it (for once) and hope you are, too. 8D

This looks really epic! You did a WONDERFUL job on the anatomy, especially the legs. Your getting better at the neck although I do recommend making it a bit thinner in the middle. Another thing to try is darker shading. I do mine by using the marker tool at like, 80 or 85 opacity and then take the eraser and select the area around the character, erase, then I will make the edges soft and turn the pressure down and erase where The light or whatever hits. It makes it look a buttload better and outlines muscles much better. Hope this helps!

Yayayaya aslkdjad Finally. 8D I've been all worried over the legs for too long. About time I got them right. 8D For the neck, I've tried making it longer before, but I think when I do that, it looks too thin, so I've generally kinda kept them a little shorter. I think I mix dog and horse anatomy primarily (they are my main references) and cats occasionally for the feet (if doing paws). For the shading, I think I do something similar. Here is an image of the PSD for this picture. I have all of the shading turned off except for a slightly orange colored dark gray over the entire dragon. I then erased where the light is goingto be, set it to multiply and turned it down to 25 percent. If I say "old style shading", it's this, because I used to do it completely like this at 100 percent. Now for darker BG's I'm doing this at a low opacity along with my normal multiply/screen shading. This is the image with just the gray layer turned on, normal 100 percent i.imgur.com/CzTkJxd.png Sorry if that was kindof long, but I think we kindof do the same thing for that part of the shading. ..Unless I'm mistaken.

Basically I just add a layer over everything, and draw over it completely black. Then I just erase where light hits it instead of draw where I think the shading should be. I use only SAI so I select the entire area around the character and erase before I start. I can show you If I can livestream.
