Yes. In our culture, we called it, "Dab Tsuam (Dah Chua)." It means Sitting Demon. Tsuam (Chua) means crush or sit on. Dab (Dah) means demon or ghost. Together combined, it means the Sitting Demon.

A new horror movie is being produced that's directly inspired by the real and terrifying phenomenon known as the
[old hag syndrome].

She actually reminds me of Baba Yaga, the witch from Russian fairytales.

I usually find out it's just our cat, Zelda, who loves sleeping on my chest.
Otherwise, a most unpleasant nightmare. Amazing image!!!

I should show this to my dad, that's happened to him a number of times. He'll just lie there with his eyes open all corpse like. I imagine the experience is almost as disturbing as your hag.

Very funny manip! I actually had one of those experiences. Mine was a mist fog in the shape of a person. Damn scarey! I couldn't move or speak, it was awful. I really thought I had seen a demon or ghost until I later found out about the sleep thingy. Has something to do with REM sleep with your eyes open. I read something about it, but really can't remember.
