Description Unlike my previous pumpkin carvings, this one is done with a false pumpkin which is made of a hard foamy material. It supports more detailed carvings such as this one. It took me a very long time to carve this. And I don't know if you can tell from the picture, but there are sections that have been thinned to let a little light through. That was the hardest part. I am trying to devise an easier way of doing it.

Very nice, i haven't carved a pumkin in a while, want to again very soon. Good i dea to use the fakey pumkins, not only do you get to do more detail but it'll last much longer. Very nice work, i do not know if some clay tools (the ones with the looped ends) with sharpened edges would help achieving that thinned layering look easier or not, if i see anything i'll send it your way. might be interesting to see a shot of the pumkin when its in the light.
