It feels a little unfinished or incomplete, mainly because of the lack of earings you mentioned as well as his trademark 3rd sword and a few other details, but overall it's a killer deviation.

its originally Zoro ^^ they changed it in the north american version to avoid lawsuit with Mexican Zorro i think

I think in the North American One Piece they also got confused with the "L" sound to "R" sound translation too, in addition to the Hero "Zorro".
Stellar One Piece Art as usual! Zoro, Ussop and Franky are some of my favorites. But I like all of the Characters in that series.

most japanise naturaly swich l & r in pronunciation. it seems vis decided to use the japanise pronunciaton later on as well as the phonetic spelling of it to avoid confusion. if you look at the early issues of shonen jump they use the proper spelling i.e. Zolo
