Haha omg same here. My first blind playthrough and I went with him because I wanted to see what all the hype was about and it still hurts. My Lavellan is still not ok X_X

Fun story: A gifset on tumblr of a bunch of kisses from DA:I was what inspired me to look it up (and eventually play), and it was the Solas kiss on the balcony specifically that caught my attention. I was like: damn that's a really nice kiss what's this from??? Who is he. XD
And so I looked up Dragon Age Inquisition and found it was #3 in the DA games and I was kinda confused about it and ended up watching a DA:I lets play (GeekRemix with Mari and Stacy lol) and they actually ended up romancing Cullen lol (who also has a very cute & nice romance) and I looked it up and it was like $60 or whatever for Inquisition and I was like um okay I guess I'll just watch lets play videos to find out whatever I need to know. And I did and I low key joined the DA fandom on tumblr (even though I knew like zero of what was going on because Inquisition lacks a lot of explanation for subtext they assume you know from previous games!! lol) and it was only until December, six months ago when my older brother bought me DA:I for christmas that I actually was able to play for the first time. Lol.
By that time I'd already made a bunch of ocs and even this one trash comic featuring Solas and a character at the time I THOUGHT was going to be my inquisitor but eventually developed into a companion ONLY oc and I designed a whole new inquisitor and yeah. 
Anyways I am still on my first playthrough of DA:I (and i still havent played any of the other DA games though i've watched a full LP of DA2 and a partial one of DA) and I'm like 3/4 of the way done and of course I'm playing as a Mage, female Lavellan and romancing Solas because I've waited fOREVER to get to interact with this guy & make my own choices lmao.

Can't blame you! The animations in this game are the best I've seen! There's so much attention to little details, and everything just works. Props to the designers and animators, seriously.
I've done that with a couple other fandoms haha. Actually I started in the Mass Effect fandom the same way, but eventually got the game as a gift for my birthday. Then I got the Dragon Age games as a Christmas gift too. I bought the Trespasser DLC and DA2 myself though. Awesome that you're finally enjoying the games though! Smart to have played inquisition first too. I tried to play DAO first, and I just couldn't get into as other people did. I played DAO first then immediately jumped to Inquisition. I only bought DA2 for lore, and it really did clear some things up regarding the qunari and mages. DAO had great summarized explanations of lore and especially helped open my eyes to just how bad alienage life was for the elves. It could be that because my first character was a human noble that I didn't really feel connected to my character on DAO because the backstory just felt very expected. The only real complaint I had for DAO was that it's brought up so often of how shocked people are that a woman is fighting which eventually just got ( ._. ).You can even get into an argument with one of your companions in DAO who says that women should only priests, artisans, shopkeepers, or farmers, but they should never be warriors and no matter what option you pick you can never win the argument. Maybe it was a different time, but still ( ._____________. )
Either way though, I really want to buy their lore book, because I hear it has a bunch of tid-bits of information that you can't really find in the game. Like how the war table in DAI was actually ironically cut from a peace tree prior to Skyhold being built. I've also been on a hunt for Patrick Weekes' "The Masked Empire" because it has a bunch of lore tid-bits in it too regarding the Orlesians and the Ancient Elves. From what I hear of Felassan, he sounds like a really funny and interesting character and I hear it sheds a LOT of light on the "Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts" quest. I've bought Asunder already, I just haven't read it, but I hear it sheds a lot of light on Cole's past.

Oh my goodness! I'm so jealous! D : I want it so, bad but it's just not in my budget. I'll have to wait or do commissions before I get it ( ; o .o)

Ye. I just wish we had the option to like,,, teach him lol! Good bros dont let other bros get tricked by incorrect views they've been socialized to believe about women's role in society. XD
Yeah I got it as a gift <3 its so BIG and full of art that i spend like 30 minutes looking at each piece and I havent even gotten a third of the way through reading it yet lol!

Haha True that! The qunari really do have some worrisome beliefs (._ . ; ) Especially with how they treat their mages too...
Aaaaaaah! You're so lucky! I love looking through their process behind their choices because it's such an aesthetically beautiful game!
