Following the sketch I did about a week ago, here's the actual costume and leather armor for my LARP character, Namrik, a rogue. Took about 30 to 40 hrs of work for this one! And you can pull off the top and keep the bottom as a belt!Related content

This was basically just a XL shirt I bought at walmart and cut the sleeves and put some other fabric on!

I see from other views it's actually a half sleeve shirt and that you have some leather like sleeves under your bracers and covering the rest of your arms. Β If possible, I'm still wondering where you got the items. Β Thanks.

Thanks for the comment! Well the pants were just some long shorts i bought a couple of years before that pic! I don't even remember where I bought them haha! XD

Well I could advice that you check value stores for clothes that you could modify yourself and chack around the net for tutorials, google and DA are your friends here for that kind of search! I learn how to do leatherworking just by finding some easy tutorials here!

How much (if at all) does that full torso cuirass thingy restrict movement? Just wondering, cause I've always been afraid/intimidated to try making anything for that region because i wanted to stay mobile and flexible.

to be honest this one dosen't restrict movement that much since it's "articulated"! It even helps your posture kinda like a corset would do! I can bend, roll on the floor with it with ease!

cool but where do you get your larp gear from?! i have a epic idea for a costume just that i can't get anything to make it //_< also can you be diffrent races and use bows in larp???

yup! it's just like D&D but in real life and without dice rolls lolll! You can get larp gear in different online stores like epic armory and places like that. Just do a google seach and you'll find what you need but if you want the best place for larp weapons search fo calimacil, you wont be disapointed!! but for my larp gear I did the desings myself and a friend of mine made the costume for me and I do all the leatherwork myself so it's cheaper this way loll

every larp as different rules on making charcters so I can't really help you there, you have to find a larp you want to go in and check their rules^^

OMG you are so wrong about larp places! some of the best are in europe (france, germany and places like that!)But we do have nice places where I live (in the province of Quebec in Canada)

thnak you! Well they aren't that expensive when you think of the quality of the weapon with others made out of latex that can tear off and always need extensif care, unlike calimacils where you could literaly leave them for the whole winter under the snow and come back at spring and would me as good as new lol! And some of their model are as cheap as 100$ when you can't get a latex sword as good looking under 300$!

Humm yeah well I might consider one after I have my costume complete ^^ I like the looks of my current sword ^^ I prefer simple and plain swords so yeah i'll probably stay under 150... euro XD

It's totally worth it I assure you! What kind of character you would want to play?

A knight kinda, onehanded with a shield ^^ not full plated but only plate(metal) a shelmet, pauldrons, arms and legs xP
Kinda difficult to find like full armor for girls, and I dont like it anyway, and it's less heavy, i'll just use my shield to protect myself ^^ [link]
