wowie... I can very much relate to the situation and feeling presented here, especially back when I was still asthmatic but constantly encountering smoke. it felt like it clung to the lungs, stuck to you, polluted you--and a thousand breaths couldn't get it out.
anyway, love your painting style, as well as the color choices utilized here--like the white shirt and bandages to offset the yellows/greens/oranges, and the subtle repeat of that navylike cool-green-gray. and the hints of purple. man. wonderful work~
