"Wanna know how I got these scars? My father was... a drinker. And a fiend. And one night he goes off crazier than usual. Mommy gets the kitchen knife to defend herself. He doesn't like that. Not. One. Bit. So, me watching, he takes the knife to her, laughing while he does it. Turns to me and he says "Why so serious?" Comes at me with the knife,"Why so serious?" He sticks the blade in my mouth. "Let's put a smile on that face!" And... Why so serious?"-The Joker (The Dark knight)
Aquastic pastels on 8X10 black cardboard.
Wanted to try a new medium, rather satisfied with the gritty texture.

excellent strokes with the pastels here. and choice of cardboard brought out a gringy texture to the drawing.. truely amazing work!

Unlike all of the boring, same pics of Heath Leger's joker here on DA, I like this one; it really has character. He looks deep and thoughtful, somewhat tired, and sad. Deeply melancholy. You made the eyes perfectly, captured a slightly different side of this loony character.
