Description
Anoles are a small, smooth skinned, green or brown lizard native to Florida, though they've spread to many southeastern states. The anole has become common in NC and we often see them around the house and hiding in the bushes. They're particularly fond of our decorative evergreens. They like to perch on the finger-like foliage and sleep there at night. They're not too bothered about being discovered and at the least they'll give you a lazy stare and nod off again.
