Yeah, Victorian London was like that, anything and everything had a classy flourish to it...The Bus is from the 50's they were called Trolley Buses and ran like your Trams an overhead pole connected to electric cables overhead, they were great and I still just remember getting off outside Glasgow Hospital ( Scotland) to have and op on my throat as a wee lad...Β

I've never lived in a town with public transportation. It was really quite novel when i visited a few places with it I love things that are intricate, just because. Like a light pole...it doesnt have to be pretty, but they chose to add beauty as well as function Β

In London there is no need for a car as we have the underground railway and excellent bus services, plus the Traffic was registered at going only 5 mph any way and you have to pay a tax to enter in a CarΒ

Oh wow! And everyone just gets around like that? Here, i didnt have my first bus ride til i was in my 20's! Everyone has between 2 and 3 cars per family. (I plan on getting rid of my car if i move and walking to work.)Β

Yep sure is but people still have more than one car per family like you have but a lot of them do a park and ride scheme where you park out side the city and get a free bus into the City or a very low fixed fare.

Oh, that makes sense. That way you dont clog up the streets or risk getting in an accident. Theres a main way here that is notorious for pile up accidents...its like winning the lottery to get through without incident. The put up a helicopter over that road, every day around rush hour, just to announce the accidents. Β

In our area in particular, we are know for fouling things up when police get involved. Like, if someone gets pulled over for speeding, there will be a huge traffic jam from i, because everyone will slow way down and stare at the proceedings as if they've never seen a cop before... rubber neckers Β

I saw a dog get hit by a Truck and turned around and stopped to help, it was a German Shepard and he had gone under the rear wheels, he died on my lap before the Police could get there. The owner phoned me later that night in tears and thanked me for being with him in his last hours on the planet, a jealous neighbour had let it out..Β

Aw, hon thats awful! I always feel bad when something gets hit in traffic. I hit a raccoon the other night. It was icy roads and i tried to avoid it, but it ran straight for the tires. I left some flowers for it the next morning...its gone now...Β

its a knee-jerk reaction i suppose. Some people try to do what they can, and they may have not been paying full attention to begin with.. Like a little bit ago when i helped out that mom and her little boy who were in a single car - verses- light pole crash. She couldn't have been paying attention to have hit a light pole at speed in a parking lot :/Β

its illegal regionally around here. Some states only have age requirements on it, while highly discouraging the action. Β Β
