Since I play Paper Mario 2 is PAL version, I can say that Spanish Vivian(Bibiana) is a guy too.

Bibiana is the spanish version of Vivian and the reason she's called Vivian is because her jap name is Bibian (the jap version of Vivian) which is a girls name so they got it right

Personally, I'm glad they changed her sex in the American version. Under different circumstances a gay, crossdressing hero would be hilarious, but they goofed when they made him/her/it the most attractive siren, and also the sweetest. Although I always wondered why Vivian, unlike her sisters, punched instead of slapped, I'm still glad they changed her sex.
