The best day of my life

There are certain times when life gets you down. You may have just lost your job, or uncomfortably come out of a relationship. Someone close to you may have died or may be seriously ill. At times like these, it is important to remember the good times, the times when life was rich full and vibrant, when you didn’t have a care in the world, when the weather was gorgeous and when you were having a shitload of fun.
One such day for me was Saturday the 29th of June, 2003, at the Glastonbury festival. As many of you will know, the actual festival starts on the Friday. That was a really good day, my fondest memories being that of sitting on a hill, watching Idlewild perform a relaxing set as the sun started to set, then going over to the main stage to see David gray take us into the night. That was truly wonderful, and even now, almost 2 years on, fills my heart with extreme happiness and forces a smile across my lips.
But, as I was soon to discover, the best was yet to come.
