Thank you very much. I love the effect myself, but may people on Deviantart do not like it.

How true. It is becoming more difficult to go to greater creative heights.

this one stands out from some of the others. the top of the black part looks like someone's messy signature. the rest look like jelly beans and some kind of weird cherry escaping some kind of binding force behind them.

Wow! Interesting discription.

haha, thats why i love abstract art so much, particularly if its colorful. you can pull out any image from it in your minds eye. the writer puts the description to the visual arts

oh, and by the way, you should meet my art teacher. one guy in my class was painting something abstract with just some streaks of color and he gave some long description about some 5-legged praying mantis ripping some guy's head off. but yeah, our teacher is crazy. he has a thing about enjoying profane jokes, making him one of the more interesting teacher's i've met.

Consider yourself fortunate. Colorful people make learning easier.

Karcx In reply to art137 [2006-12-12 20:58:29 +0000 UTC]

well, yeah, i think he's awesome because he's an entertaining teacher, but at the same time, he just gives assignments without teaching any techniques. that's the only thing i don't like.

art137 In reply to Karcx [2006-12-13 01:14:59 +0000 UTC]

Technique is important, but a person with outstanding technique will not be a great artist. Playing around in the world of assignments may lead you to becoming a great artist.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Karcx In reply to art137 [2006-12-13 01:27:27 +0000 UTC]

that's so true, but technique is nice if your goal is to make a picture more accurate to what it should look like. but with you, that's not as much of a concern since you do abstract. but you're a very insightful person when it comes to the philosophy of art

You are sharp yourself. Trust your own judgement when doing art.

thanks, i'll be sure to. just wondering, have you ever had any interest in writing at all?

art137 In reply to Karcx [2006-12-13 06:28:43 +0000 UTC]

I have thought about it. At one time I thought I would write SF books, but the time to do it takes away from art and artificial intelligence.

true, i want to try publishing something, but at the same time its difficult for me to sit down and do it. its an enjoyable activity but it feels like there should be other things i should be doing.

It is difficult to know which path in life you should take, but any path is technically correct.

so true. you sound like you might be as philosophical as i am.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

art137 In reply to Karcx [2006-12-22 07:10:32 +0000 UTC]

Yes, but my philosophy does not require certainity just close to a reasonable view of reality.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Karcx In reply to art137 [2006-12-24 23:30:28 +0000 UTC]

true, but philosophy can't be certainty since it's a way of life. it's pretty much everything you can't find a real answer to.
