This is the pic I drew in DJ's birthday card this year when I sent his birthday gift. I took a 'scan' of it using an application on my iPhone and amusingly, my cell phone 'scans' art better than my scanner, it would seem!Splashed some color on this- had a lot of fun trying out a different way of coloring in Photoshop. Sometimes, it's fun to experiment.
I've noticed Chava pretty much looks smug in every picture I draw her in. True, that's just her 'Chavatude' as DJ calls it, but, lol.

Thank you! DJ doesn't use DA, but he has an account over on FA. I'm not sure how often he updates over there though, because he has been extremely busy lately.

Actually, down the road they eventually become a couple. They start out as partnered field agents but many years later their strong bond eventually turns romantic.

Fwweeee those pics you linked to are so old XD 1997- that was my sophomore year of high school. I probably won't repost those here because they are so dated and I have vastly improved since then, and also because those scans are such garbage. I didn't have a scanner back then so I would use the old clunky one in my journalism class and it scanned everything in TIF format. Even if I were to rescan, the original pics are buried somewhere deep in storage a good 500 miles away from me ( ahhhh... Exes and the inconvenience of them XD )
Anyway, I never really was aware of it at the time, but over the years a lot of people have come forward and told me that she particularly was one of their favorite fan characters if not their favorite in the fandom. I feel very honored by that- and I'm happy to know I've created a character that has left such a lasting impression, even a decade after I stopped participating in the fandom.
There will definitely be more Chava coming down the pipeline. I have handfuls of new Road Rovers sketches laying about. It's just a matter of having the time to get to them.

Ah, I figured that was the case. Still, those ol' pics is what hooked me to Chava at the first place and so forth.
I too can relate to being proud of a character's unexpected popularity. The same thing happen to me with my characters. I made them out of creative spree and the next thing I know, they became major hits.
