I was just working on the reunion chapter in Redcliffe with my mage character and accidentally fell in love with Jowan while writing it. Sooooo yeah. ^___^edit: 9/16/10 - tweaked his face/darkened hair
ughh still not quite happy with it, I think I tweaked it the wrong way hehe so I will probably go back again >_>;

whatever became of him. after redcliffe we never hear of him again. I worried about him. I tried to make all the right choices to help him. I don't know why the character touched my heart so. for being such a small part. he just seemed like he was a positive person with a good heart. and he had a innocence about him that I loved

Anyway, great art here ^^ I think he looks a bit like Xan with beard. I guess because of the sad expression and the purple robe.

This is wonderful, he looks slightly less whiny than he does in DA here and reminds me a bit of Xan (must be the purple robes and brown hair, also the slightly depressed look). I love all the detail you've put in. Silly thing is it makes me wish that DA had portraits like Baldur's Gate so I could stick this one in for Jowan and admire it while gaming XD

and I definitely agree with you; I've kind of wanted to override some portraits as well... some of those DA characters just look weird with their in-game portraits!

Artastrophe, I really admire your paintings. No worries about the facial structure "inconsistencies" since most people do not have a completely symmetrical face (but somehow, I think you knew that). You have done a wonderful job capturing Jowan's sullen demeanor.

Love Jowan. He's a great character. I wish they would have left him as a party member as he was originally planned for in Origins.

Jowan was a very interesting character. I found it rather poor, that you couldn't keep him. What better way is there to atone one's mistakes by helping to defeat the enemy.

yeah--I think it's pretty interesting that they had originally (waaay back when) planned for him to be recruitable! I mean, it's basically the same rescue that Duncan provided for you (with most origins). That would have been cool to see
