Badges can now be awarded to deviations and comments when you want to go the extra mile to show your appreciation. Give a badge to an awe-inspiring deviation, a thoughtful, in-depth critique, or a comment that made your day!Share Your Appreciation by Awarding a BadgeWhen you want to do more to express your appreciation, you can now award a badge to deviations and comments. When you award a badge, it’ll appear on that deviation or comment as well as on the deviant’s Profile — just like llama badges and other community event badges.,You Can Award Badges To:Deviations that inspireHelpful resources or tutorialsThoughtful and thorough critiquesHeartfelt replies to something you sharedClever, witty comments that made you laughTo award a badge, simply click the diamond icon underneath a deviation or on a comment.Choose Between Three Different BadgesThree types of badges can be awarded: Quartz, Emerald, and Diamond. To give them, you’ll need fragments, which are essentially “tokens” used in exchange for badges.When you award a badge to a comment or a deviation, the recipient will also receive bonus fragments, which they can use to award their own badges. The Diamond badge includes a one-month Core Membership if the recipient isn’t already a Core Member!,Quartz: 10 FragmentsThe recipient of a Quartz badge will also receive one fragment.Emerald: 100 FragmentsThe recipient of an Emerald badge will also receive 10 fragments.Diamond: 300 FragmentsThe recipient of a Diamond badge will also receive 100 fragments and, if they’re not already a Core Member, they’ll receive a one-month Core Membership for free!Earning FragmentsFragments can be earned in three ways:When someone awards a badge to your deviation or comment, you’ll receive bonus fragments.As a Core Member, you’ll receive weekly fragments.You can win fragments in official DeviantArt contests and challenges.You can always find the number of fragments you currently have under your Profile dropdown.As a starting bonus, all current Core Members have been gifted 300 fragments.,Badges have been well loved on DeviantArt for over a decade, used countless times to spur positive interaction among deviants. You’ll then receive fragments every Friday while your Core Membership is active. (The exact time on Friday can vary and may not fall on a Friday depending on your time zone.) If you upgrade to Core Membership on a Friday and the week’s fragments have already been distributed earlier in the day, you will only receive your welcome fragments and not the additional Friday fragments.Do badges exist on the mobile app?Not yet, but they'll be coming to the mobile app soon!Where can I view the amount of badges I’ve given or received?You can see the amount of badges you’ve received by going to your Profile > About.
