Description
A few months ago, I became fully obsessed with UsaRitsu 's Celadon's new blossom series, and while I confess I still haven't finished reading the story, I was so in love with their art of Ashley (genderbent Ash ketchum) dressed as other characters, and, specifically in relation to this post, their designs for Ashley's outfits in each region.
I was so inspired by www.deviantart.com/usaritsu/ar… , that I started working on my own Ashley designs, and although these have taken longer to finish than I would have liked, I'm pretty proud of them, and I'd like to draw her more in the future, I kind of have a bit of a story planned out for her, but who knows if I'll ever get round to writing it. Worth mentioning before I touch on the individual designs that, for the sake of consistency and also due to lack of confidence with posing, I largely kept their poses the same, though for some reason this isn't true for the arms, I don't know why, but it did allow me to show off a bit more personality. Worth mentioning as well that her personality is pretty distinct from Ash's, and evolved quite a bit as I kept drawing her.

Unova: For this one I really wanted her outfit to reflect the more urban unova region with a more modern, casual outfit. At first I tried a hoody and pleated skirt, but I couldn't get it to look right, so I decided to remove the hoody and tie it around her waist, separating the skirt from her cute off-the shoulder pikachu t-shirt, with a black tank top underneath. This combined with her frizzy twin bun hairstyle, ripped tights and well worn trainers really did a good job of encapsulating the style I was going for, a more scruffy look suitable for the big cities of unova, while still showing off Ashley's femininity and fashion sense. Colourwise, I think the t-shirt would be a light blue or purple, with the hoody being the other, and the skirt either a dark red or black, and her hair has to be a dirty blonde with distinct blonde and brown streaks.

Kalos: If you've read through the first part you know that I was torn between my favourite being Sinnoh or another, well here she is. I really enjoyed crafting an outfit that is pretty enough to live up to the france inspired region of Kalos, a region well known for fashion as well as beauty being a main theme in the game the region is featured in. Naturally as she changes outfits and hairstyles every new region, she always starts with a shopping spree, but in this region I like to think she does a lot more, especially as she now may or may not have a certain female companion who, as this is my version of events, may or may not definitely become her girlfriend, and likes going shopping with her. Anyway, her skirt is a dark blue with silver buttons, the top/very thin jumper is white, the scarf is dark red and the beret is either a lighter red or a creamy colour. As for her hair, I think either a warm brown that gets lighter towards the tips or a lighter shade of brown with slightly darker streaks, somewhat similar to Serena's, but darker.

Alola: I like the idea of this one but I think the execution was quite messy. The colours on this one could really be anything though, obviously the sandals are brown and the main part of the hat is straw coloured, but the flowers on the blouse, the layers of the skirt and the band on the hat could really be any colour, as long as they are bright and colourful enough for this tropical outfit. If you were wondering, in this timeline Serena goes with Ashley on her Alolan vacation, and stays with her throughout her time at the trainer school. This is the outfit she would wear while not at school and at certain times outside on her adventures through the islands, but I haven't got round to creating another style yet.

Galar: This is the one that I had the least inspiration for. All the others were fairly informed by the geography and/or culture of their regions, and despite living in the uk myself, I had nothing, so I decided that, like the Sinnoh variant, I would just base it on another outfit I really like, in this case it was going to be a maroon button-up blouse and a black flared skater skirt, however while looking for reference images, I stumbled upon a picture of a light grey lacy box pleated skirt that I liked even more, and would be much easier to draw. To capture the lacy pattern of the skirt properly, I had to make it lighter than originally planned, and, wanting it to still remain darker than the blouse, I left the blouse white, which definitely gave a different look than I had planned. When it came to the hair I decided to go all in on the accidentally preppy and demure look, giving her short and fairly straight hair, with a white hairband to add to the style. Finally I finished off with some pokeball pattern socks, black platform buckled shoes and a simple silver heart necklace, given to her of course by Serena. For hair colour, I think this could work with a properly vibrant ginger. Overall I do really like this design, but as cute as she is, I'm not sure she works as a main Galar outfit. I would definitely keep this as an outfit she wears from time to time, but I feel like this is the main style I'm most likely to redesign later.
