Description
There is one time a year that Lunaire will remove the war paint for something more traditional. It is the anniversary of the death of her father. She will continue to do this until she has brought him home. Every year she visits the shrine she made for her father and sits in quite contemplation, plotting her revenge on those that are responsible.All the frustration on this one. I really wanted it to be something awesome and it turned out frustrating and not how I wanted it to. But I have to put down the pen at some point and call it done. A learning experiance for sure, and I look forward to when painting is easier for me. I will admit that this turned out better than my last attempt at painting so I have improved!

Everything about this is so authentic, and her expression brings out the melancholy tones in this piece paired with the soft orange light. I really, really think this is a very good peice. Keep it up!

I do like it. I feel like the lighting could be a bit more contrasted, as there are only torches lighting the scene (err, latern things.) The night sky is done very nicely, and the background looks like it's dropping off. Like it's the edge of a cliff. o__o it's an interesting effect but I'm not sure if it's intentional. The folds in her skirt could be more developed, it looks a little blobby. I really like the texture of the ground and the colouring used on it. You missed a bit of an oppourtunity to use perspective in the stones from the house to the arch, they don't really get much smaller going from the house to the arch, and they really should, and would exemplify the distance a bit better. I do like how they're drawn, though.
I'd say it's definite progress in your work, and I do like it. There is always progress to be done, but this is a nice step in the right direction!!

Wow thanks C: Lighting is something that I have just started studying and so it is shaky ground for me but I see your point!
And yes! The shrine was built on top of a tall cliff and it is a very dangerous climb to get to it. Lunaire made it that way to keep it hidden, especially from Liana. The path actually extends beyond the opening and you can see it in the rice paper of the swan door, so it is about and inch bigger at the bottom than at the top C:
This was a HUGE learning experience for me, but I did enjoy parts of it

I'm glad you completed the picture. Even if it didn't turn out the way you wanted it to, it's important to finish it. There's nice parts to the picture and at the end of the day, it's still a valuable learning experience!

Thanks C: I realized I had to stop working on it when it ceased to be fun. :C There were a lot of things I could have kept going on for HOURS to make better, but all in all I would say that it is complete. I knew when I started that I was working on something above my skill level but wanted to push myself C:
