There are a few nifty little details in here. First, I really like the white unicorn's necklace. It's kind of a passing detail, not something you're throwing in the audience's face to point out as obviously as possible that it's there. It's subtle, I guess is what I'm going for.
Second, and I've no idea if Knoll described things this way, is that I like how the unicorn horns are bi-colored. Somehow that lends to the mythical sense of the beasties.
Third is the girl's glasses. I love the contrast of mythic and modern.

Mr Knoll does describe his unicorns carefully. Shahly, with the necklace is pony size, white with gold on her hooves and a gold ribbon in her horn, and she has brown eyes. Her stallion, Vinton, is large, is dark reddish brown with black mane and tail and bronze on his hooves and horn. One is cream colored with white mane and tail and...was her hooves silver or copper? One had blue eyes.....and if you like the modern mix with this one, just wait...he tells me the next one I work on has old tanks in it and that I'll be drawing tanks!!!

lOL, most probably...it'll be interesting to see how he marries modern warfare and technology to fantasy worlds...don't think it's something I would do, but I'm not the writer....although I AM a big fan of Harry Dresden

Sadly, I still haven't finished reading Ghost Story. I've really slipped in my fan status, though I prefer to see it as Butcher himself slipping from what I loved back in the first five books. I should take a photo of my Dresden collection and post it on here. I have at least four copies of most books, many signed and a few special, limited edition copies.

oh that is sooo cool, but you really need to finish Ghost...it's worth the read and here's hoping the next one has, er, life, improving for him, or at least returning

I will one of these days finish reading Ghost Story. The plot is getting entirely too grandiose for my taste but I will push onward, if for no reason than I have come this far.
(whispers) Jim actually contacted me on here years and years ago. In the darkest days of my writing depression, he gave me a pep talk to keep on goin'. It was amazing.
