The colours.. so softly applied.. it really gives it a dreamy, hazy feel. I could just stare at this picture forever..

I really love this. I think it's partly because of the variety on the surface of the ground. Somehow it's just very appealing

Oh, this very much makes me think of something out of a fairy tale. It's very nostalgic. The earthy colors are very interesting for a snow scene! I like how carefully the girl is peeking out.

Hmmm, I dunno if it's just me, but I don't like how everything kind of runs together. It's good, but on your level it's mediocre, but that's amazing on everyone elses level, lol

Thank you. I had trouble with it trying to swing between being too muted or too wild. It seemed like it had a very narrow range that it needed to rest in.

Okay, I've answered everyone's but yours and wolf02. I saved the two of you for last because you both always have such interesting things to say. I thought when I started seeing your comments about new art that you had no idea what was coming. I probably should have waited and submitted a few of those later. lol. But James is going to be in town this weekend and next week, so I won't have much time and I wanted to get it in.
No, snow isn't really all white, and winter is perhaps the most colorful season when all those browns and golds, and tans and grays aren't covered up with what is almost a single shade of green!
There is definitely a story there-don't know what it is-she just appeared and disappeared, just like the bird. *sigh* Such is life.
I DO love the richness of oil. It was my first love, from it's scent to it's feel, to it's look.

I love oil painting myself! Uhm, let me rephrase that. I, too, love oil painting!
If I could get some decent photographs of my canvases, perhaps I would post some of them. My Icon is from a 3x5 foot portrait I did of Aslan after rereading the C.S. Lewis Narnia series.
Keep up the great work. I was delighted to see all that new work coming at once, and was online whenever you started posting. At first, I was saying, "cool," then, it was, "coolcool," and it kinda progressed from there!

There are so many colors. I never would've thought to put so many different colors in white snow or even bark of a tree for that matter. The sky too. It makes it look stormy and cold, but the nice green grass makes it look pleasant.
bravo!

I may have gotten carried away with the tree, it seems I'm always trying to push and play with color. I had a teacher, and a friend, a long time ago that introduced me to the idea of the number of colors you could use with snow. Before that I was a 'put down white paint' person.
