Happy outrageously belated birthday ! Here's that birthday picture I promised. I'm sorry it took me freakin' forever to get it done. I really apologize if I made it seem like I wasn't going to make it anymore.I'm not sure if I did the characters justice. But I honestly had a ton of fun making this piece. A lot more than I initially thought I would. I can now cross drawing Anakin and Padme off my art bucket list.
I really hope you like this and that you had an amazing birthday. Thanks for being super awesome!

I'm not sure, but I tried putting beads in my hair one time and it was NOT a good time. So I'm guessing it's super, super annoying to put all her into that thing.

I was more of a Star Wars fan when I was little, so I guess I'm old-school and not as familiar with these characters. However, there's such a romantic quality here that's really touching. I love the body language and the expressions; the way her hand is on his cheek is sweet and endearing.
Her dress is amazing! I had to get in close to appreciate all the tiny texture details, but it's very nice. Again, your stonework and architecture textures floor me. I can't get over how incredible your backgrounds are. At first they look quite simple, but when you study them there's so much detailed realism, it's like you could reach out and feel the wood grain or smooth marble.
What really caught my attention about this one is the color palette. It's dark and full of muted earth tones which I find gorgeous, especially in the sky. Those heavy clouds are wonderfully rendered, and the tone is rich and intense; I'm not sure if those are debris bits or way-distant fighter ships, but it gives a sense of motion which I enjoy. There's a great use of heavy shadows and that burst of light defining the lovers, it's all GREAT!

I'm glad you like the body language. I was a bit worried about it being more cliche' than sweet, but you've put that worry in the ground for me.
Haha It took me awhile to figure out how to do the print without dying of exhaustion, and even longer picking out what dress to use, there were so many nice ones. So I'm glad you appreciate how it came out even if it's one of those things you have to get in close to see.
Eeee! Thanks. I've always struggled with backgrounds, and honestly still do. So every time I receive a sweet comment like yours about them I get all tingly and happy, and it feels all worth it.
I wondered a bit when I was looking at the finished product if I made it too dark in some areas, but once again, you've lain my fears to rest on that matter.Β

Honestly, I don't think a romantic stance could ever be clichΓ© because the poses are just so real, you know? It's how people touch, hold, and feel with each other. I like this a lot! Especially because it's sweet, touching, and yet still strong.
Gosh, the elaborate dresses and prints are outstanding, but I can definitely see the dilemma in both choosing and drawing them. I like how you always challenge yourself, and us, by going that extra step with your artwork. The details make the visuals!
Well, I'm a huge fan of dark so I like the amount of heavy contrasting. But if you lightened it up, I think it would lose the atmosphere of the moment and the sci-fi world. This is just perfect! OMG are you kidding me? You're backgrounds are something I aspire to, I can't even. I know the struggle to do them, so I know how much effort you've put into your scenery and creating the entire illustration. Bravo! Just, bravo!
