After all these years I finally got to draw a fully done piece of Leia! It was tons of fun to draw this, and surprisingly relaxing.
This was requested by as their prize art for winning first place in the popular vote category of the 's Villain Design Sheet Contest.
She asked for Leia to be in her Hoth outfit and I was so happy to not be asked to draw Slave Leia. Don't get me wrong, I don't think there's anything wrong with the Slave Leia outfit. But it was nice to get to do something different, a little less familiar. So, thank you for requesting this and giving me the chance to do something I've wanted to do for a long time as well as something new.
I hope you like it and don't mind there's a bit of background in there.

Ooh, I really enjoy the overall cold feel of this piece! You have such a natural talent when it comes to finding the light in your scenes, and what's interesting here is how you took into account the vibrant reflection of snow. It's such a bright image with very little contrast, which is perfect inside a "white out". I am always impressed with the thoughtful approach you take in designing your illustrations, all the care and consideration.
Another wonderful lil' touch is the rosy cheeks and frost-bitten nose! Not only is it a nice warm color in this field of cool tones, but it definitely reads chilled to the bone and too long out in the elements. I do like that you added a lot of poofy lines on her wardrobe because it captures the layers and heavy fit needed to be out in those arctic conditions. And she's beautiful, oh my gawd! I just love the shape of her face and the gorgeous eyes!! Your drawings are so lovely, with such a soft style!
This might be totally random, but I like the way you have the gun poking out of the "button" background. It just gives a hint of depth, not making it one big flat circle, and it's cool for the eyes.

Oh, you're not a bother at all. I'm actually very flattered that you would like to request something from me. I also really appreciate you being so polite about it. Unfortunately I can't take any requests right now cause I'm pretty bogged down with stuff to do. But your suggestion does sound like fun. Maybe I will have time to do it at some point.
