In my own weird head cannon, before john, Sherlock did have one friend: the doctor. but most people just thought he was an imaginary one, sort of like the whole Amy situation. The doctor and his mystery solving adventures are what inspired sherlock to become a detective. Those adventures are also why he finds everything so dull in comparison. Sherlock traveled with the doctor a tiny bit but then the doctor left Sherlock behind because it got too dangerous for a kid like Sherlock. Sherlock wasn't happy that the doctor left so to sort of spite the Doctor, Sherlock deemed certain things about space unimportant and deleted them from his "hard drive". The Doctor returned to london in 2005 to check up on Sherlock, but found out that the nesstine consciousness was hiding in london, got side tracked, and ended up meeting Rose.anyways, I hope you guys like this art and tell me what you think.

Ah, ok, that makes sense. It also makes it more funny, like he's studying The Doctor instead of the huge footprint and The Doctor is like "What are you looking at me for?"

yes, I've seen those. I love them. they kind of inspired me for this pic. It would make sense if Sherlock was the doctor's son, but I like my head cannon of the doctor being sherlock's childhood friend. and thanks.
