Description I find geology fascinating - especially when you can see strata that you would expect to be horizontal has taken on another "position" clearly through some major upheaval of the earths crust... Here is one such example...Β

Do you guys have the TV show "Lost" where you are? One of the best recurring lines throughout the first couple of seasons was, "Don't tell me what I can't do!"

Not that I am aware of - but I am not a TV fan anyway...
I use a similar line with my coaching clients...
I also bite back what people tell me "you know what you should do...."

So much of "nature" on show here... Plates from ancient volcanic eruptions... displacements from earthquakes and teutonic plate heave (a big one offshore Portugal), sea and wind erosion - all playing their part to provide such an interesting result... True "boat breakers"...

An interesting idea.. but these strata are normally laid down horizontally (volcanic lava flow) and then earthquakes or further volcanic activity buckles the "land" and pushes (heaves) them upwards.... Although I have not seen such dramatic "heave" very often..
