Description
Taking internal and "covered" shots at the Convent of Christ (a Templar stronghold) in Tomar, Portugal.... The rain finally eased so I could get a few external shots on the way back to the car..... Ho hum, but maybe sun tomorrow..
Dedicated to for his birthday this week.... Have a great one Joe!!

Oh yes - I think it was impregnable when the Templars held it... But gets very cold and damp in the winter; quite high up and very humid, to the point of getting at least some ice in the cisterns...

I like to see the wet stone floor, in a way the textures "stand out" in the image. Beautiful image.

You are right about the moodiness in the pictures - and obviously I have more to share in the days / weeks to come... I was using poetic licence as "rain does not stop play" as long as I do not get too wet and I can keep the camera relatively dry and rain off the lens.. But your words on my composition are much appreciated - that and use of natural lighting are two areas I really try to put effort into...
No, I have not "seen" Joe for some months (maybe he's gone AWOL as you did last year), but I am hoping a dedication or two might bring his head above the parapet so to say....

I like the edit too. Well waiting out of the rain may have afforded you the time to "see" the image better. The lesson...we need to slow down sometimes and "look".
Nah...he's not a flaky frog like me (never know where I'm going to jump to next) when it comes to DA stuff. I honestly think something has happen to him. I hope not...but it's just too odd for him to have dropped out of sight like that. He loves DA too much to not have wished people a Merry Christmas first. He disappeared just before Xmas.

It was too wet to get right up there... but I have many more shots that give more details - just do not want to post more than 1 or 2 every few days.. Have visited many times so have an appreciation of the better views - and I will share another with you this week.. Thanks for sharing your shot - its a beauty!!
