(Just because people seem to be getting the wrong idea, I will inform you ahead of time that this is NOT meant to be AschxLuke, though you can interpret it that way if you are so inclined. This is just Asch+Luke fluff that I wrote during math class, nothing more.)

“I said I don’t want to, dreck!”

Luke just laughed, taking hold of his original’s arm; Asch shook off his hands in disgust. “Come on, Asch. You said it was getting boring, and the sled goes twice as fast with two people on it!” The sun had dipped even closer to the horizon, and Luke peered across the hill at it anxiously. “Just once! Please?”

Asch grumbled something inaudible, a frown creasing his features and distorting the mirror image of the boy beside him. Idiot replica.

“... Please?”

With an aggravated sigh, Asch dropped down onto the sled, crossing his arms stubbornly. “Fine already! I’ll do it if you just shut up about it.”

A broad grin lit up Luke’s face and before Asch could blink he’d settled himself in his original’s lap. Asch, appalled, opened his mouth to protest but was cut off as Luke dug his feet into the snow on either side of the sled and pushed off.

The cold wind whipped at their hair and stung their cheeks as they smoothly accelerated down the slope of the hill. Luke, his eyes shut tight, let out a whoop that barely reached his ears before the wind tore it away. Behind him, Asch’s initial disapproval melted away as the thrill of adrenaline crept up his spine. He could feel something growing inside him, a sound, and as their ride caught a particularly steep patch of snow he felt it rising, and Asch couldn’t help it, he opened his mouth to laugh out loud…

Then, suddenly, he caught sight of something big and tall and brown looming up in front of them. “Luke! Look out!”

The boy in front of him started, but too late; the impact sent them both on a brief trip through the air before skidding to a tangled halt in the snow five feet away.

“Dammit, dreck!” Asch growled once he got his breath back, spitting the snow out of his mouth and glaring down at his replica.

“O-ow…” Luke whined, rubbing his head. “That hurt. Now get off me.”

“Gladly.” Asch pushed himself up and began to brush the snow off his clothes. I’ll be covered in bruises tomorrow… that idiot. He glanced around at said idiot to find him sitting there with a stupid smile on his face. “What’s wrong with you?”

“Oh… nothing.” Luke got to his feet, straightening his hat. “Come on, let’s get back then.”

“It’s about time,” Asch grumbled, retrieving the sled and stomping off towards the cabin.

Luke shook his head, but he was still smiling. The sun was setting now, casting brilliant rays across the white expanse of snow, but for once Luke didn’t notice. He…

“Well?” Asch turned impatiently. “Don’t just stand there, idiot.”

“All right, all right.” Luke hurried after him, feeling warm somehow despite the cold and the snow in his boots. Behind them, the sun slipped serenely below the horizon.

He called me Luke.
