OK.............I've been away teaching interstate for a couple of weeks and I got this DD while I was away - ------------ -

That thing is really creepy!
It's a really amazing sculpture of a face, the expression is quite hard to pin down, and I think that kind of ambiguity is really interesting and intriguing. The sculpting itself is very impressive - I especially like the way that the eyes are set into their sockets, and the nose is perfect, too. The texture that the fabric has provided is really interesting, I like the connotations of the shroud concealing or obscuring something. The nice, restrained colour of the sculpture is another thing that I like, It really adds to the surreal, macabre vibe that this sculpture is giving me.
