There comes a point with some artists where their technique is fine enough to be considered good enough to be 'masterful,' and I believe you're one of those artists on DA.
The other element of 'mastery' is aparently so nebulous in meaning that it varies from critic to critic, viewer to viewer, and a general taste of an era, and the fate of that artist with fine technique, as far as recognition goes, becomes a matter of luck. Does the right person or persons see and react to the piece and the body of work in a decisive enough way to keep the work out of the posthumous trash or feature it in a museum?
That kind of impact rests in the pysyche, emotions, and life experiences of the judge of any piece of art. After that, such a judge may be well connected in the art world, usually through wealth, sometimes personality. And rather suddenly the artist goes from being a useless bum to a brilliant soul.
For myself, I like this piece, but regretably I'm disconnected and far from wealthy. But it is one of those pictures I can live in for awhile.
