Description
loosely based on pathfinder stuff, but not in any real medium.
dark elf war mage because why not. XD
decided to name him leanabh oidhche. it's scottish gaelic for "child of night"
a guy who's living proof that actions speak louder than words, Leanabh doesn't talk much except when absolutely necessary, and tends to keep to himself a lot. he's always smiling though. sometimes it gets unsettling. XD
i guess his nature would be chaotic neutral. he's a good guy overall, but his temper can sometimes flare out of control, and his sword contains several demon souls, so i assume it'd balance out.
the sword (called claidheamh cuthach, scottish gaelic for sword of insanity) can break into segments and float freely in the air, and as long as the hilt stays in Leanabh's hand, he can control where the segments go and what they cut up. the sword also whispers things into the wielder's mind, slowly driving him insane unless he can constantly maintain a strong mental barrier between them.
it's about 80% of the reason he doesn't say much. he's usually too focused on keeping out the madness.
the sword itself is sentient, and can be considered ordered evil, often ceasing in its whispers and offering its true potential to Leanabh when circumstances would otherwise destroy its handler.
in addition to his obvious weapon of choice, Leanabh is a master of offensive magic, able to destroy large groups of enemies fairly quickly, using claidheamh cuthach as the conduit for his magic.
the downside is that any spells that don't do direct damage are out of his reach.
Leanabh and claidheamh cuthach have an unspoken agreement f sorts. the sword knows that leanabh is an AMPLE source to extract energy from, and wants to taste the blood of many enemies. Leanabh wants a weapon with which he can change the world around him. and so the two work together for the most part.
claidheamh cuthach DOES plan on absorbing the life energy of leanabh once he's outlived his usefulness, but leanabh may destroy the sword before that happens. for now, the two get along as well as they can.
