Description I haven't done any fanart of any sort in quite a while. I hope no one's too disappointed that I made this one. If you are... too frikkin bad, cause I had a blast doing it.

Something about Spiderman just lends him so well to just about every painting technique and style on the planet. Oil liftout, classic acryllic, tile mosaic, cubism... you name it, it's been done to Spiderman, I'm sure. Some oddball's probly even done an total abstract piece of Spiderman.

On a completely different note, I am somewhat surprised and disappointed that there is no comicbook category in the fanart section.

-----------

Spiderman belongs to Marvel Comics
The image belongs to me. duh.

Created with acrylic paint, matte medium, and wet-dry sandpaper

I like how the paint makes this feel really candid, like a brief moment. As a comic character, he generally always feels posed, and not like he's about to move like he does in this.

oh well, its a movie as well.
I lurve this! Its so refreshing to see spiderman in acrylic, and the pose is awesome.
1 crit: It looks like he needs some orange shading on him judging by the background...but maybe not, i cant be sure.
But overall i love it! !

Heheh yeah, you're probably right about the shading thing. Lighting is like my #1 source of trouble these days. I'm starting to grasp it, but I haven't mastered all the details.

Thank you

Good one, Robyn. I love the textures and how gritty this painting looks.

Hey thanks. I kinda like the textures miself, though I hardly planned on them turning out so good. This is one of those "Try to plan, then pray" sort of things.

Though, I've found that over-planning for this technique is bad.

Yes, well, a wise professor of mine said that effort does not equal excellence. You just do what you can and keep the good stuff (that last bit was me, not my professor.)
